Watch The Internet’s Own Boy – During Open Access Week at UT

UT Libraries would like to invite you to a viewing of The Internet’s Own Boyfollowed by a discussion with your fellow studentsWe hope that you will join us: Wednesday, October 22, in Hodges Library, room 212 at 5:30.

This film follows the story of programming prodigy and information activist Aaron Swartz. His story touches on a number of larger issues about sharing information online today (see for more information).   This screening is taking place as part of UT’s celebrations for the international Open Access Week.

Open Access Week, October 20 – 26,  is a global celebration of the principles of open access. The University of Tennessee, Knoxville is participating to create awareness about the benefits of open access to scholarship and related scholarly communication issues.

This year’s theme is Generation Open and explores the involvement of students and early career researchers in the transition to Open Access.
