It’s the Tennessee Experiential Learning Symposium.

Colleges, universities and community colleges in Tennessee have come together to host an annual symposia  to showcase experiential learning outcomes through undergraduate student research, creative work, service learning projects and study abroad experiences. TELS provides undergraduate scholars in all fields a forum to share the results of their work through posters, presentations, performances, and works of art.

The 2016 TELS event will be held at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) in Murfreesboro, TN on October 21, 2016.

Registration Deadline (not presenting): October 7, 2016

Abstract Submission Deadline (registration and abstract submission): September 21, 2016

Travel grant application deadline: September 30, 2016.

Travel grants for accepted UT students will include registration fee reimbursement and transportation to Murfreesboro. Students wishing to attend but not presenting are also eligible for travel scholarship, however priority will be given to presenters.

In 2016, TELS will be held in cooperation with the Undergraduate Social Science Symposium (USSS) being held on the MTSU campus on Thursday and Friday, October 20-21, 2016. The conferences will share a poster session on October 21. Students may present in both conferences. There will be one registration site for both conference.

To present at TELS, an undergraduate must have consulted with their faculty mentor/teacher prior to submitting an abstract.
