Participating in undergraduate research at any level can be one of the most
rewarding parts of an academic career. We offer several ways for UT faculty to get involved. Browse these options to determine what level of involvement works best for you and your research.
Add an R-Designation
Faculty can request the addition of a Research (R) designation to a new or existing course that meets a defined criteria for research inclusion. The R designation will appear on the student’s transcript allowing confirmation of participation by graduate schools and employers.
Post a Research Position
Our EXPLORE database was designed for faculty to post open research positions.
Judge The Undergraduate Awards
The university is an affiliate of The Undergraduate Awards, the largest pan-discipline undergraduate academic awards program in the world. UT faculty may serve on a panel of international judges in their area or discipline.
Host a Research Day Showcase
Each spring the Offices of Undergraduate Admissions and Undergraduate Research partner to invite up to 500 high-achieving high school students to attend Research Day, where they will experience research Showcases hosted by faculty members.
